Just finished this guy last night. I should have finished the sucker a while ago, but loss of motivation and just all around lack of time dragged this out longer than I was expecting.

Whoa nice, how did you do custom decals like this on gundams?

:icongamerabaenre:
The decals are from samuel decal, he takes orders and prints them out from hong kong and ships internationally. His store is on facebook, so do a search for "samuel decal" and you should find him.

those effects made it even more bada**...

um, was wondering... how did you create such an effect?

:icongamerabaenre:
Thanks! The parts were painted with a gloss black, then using a sponge and thinned blue paint, the paint was stamped onto the black. Once the blue dried, I used a lighter tone with a sponge and lightly added a third color. Once this was cured, I sprayed several coats of clear gloss over the parts to finish it up.

Here's the progress page for the kit: [link]

Whoa, fantastic pattern! Was it hand-painted?

To an extent it was hand painted. I used an old sponge to create the effect.

Very creative idea. I've been thinking about various materials i could use while painting, especially without airbrush but sponge... It looks fantastic :)
